What does the project involve?
The aim of the project carried out by 'Sembrando Salud' is to train Community Health Workers to become a local health benchmark and to be in charged with detecting, monitoring and evaluating the tropical diseases through a network organization. The project is looking for performing a search of the most affected areas and a better recognition of the target population, in order to analyze with them the existing needs. Also it is necesary to elaborate a map health and to facilitate an access to the most affected areas in order to promote the proper implementation of the project.
The implementation of the project is divided into three phases: identification, training and extension and monitoring.

SOCIAL IMPACT: TESTIMONY OF FATIMA LOPEZ
In March 2011 began the Education and Training in Tropical Medicine of 44 Health Community Agents in communities of Tupaninha, PA Panelon, PAE Panelon Sao Francisco, Capoerinha, Santa Luzia, Sao Francisco de Taboca, Brazil, Santa Perpetuo Socorro and Sao Jose de Mamori.
From the beginning, there is a group of people very committed to learn and become a benchmark of health. The interest will maintain the continuity of the project and expand their horizons to other municipalities as Presidente Figueredo, Borba or Nova Linda, among others.
